The Jackalope</u>
This is a favorite from where I come from.  The jackalope is a rabbit with the horns of an antelope or deer.  In some variations, it has a chicken's body along with the horns and rabbit head.  The origin of this creature may be from spottings of rabbits that have a disease in which horn-like protrusions grow from their heads.  This anomaly is on rare occaisions found in humans, too...which is where the goat-man  "Pan" originated from.

Anyhow, the jackalope is used quite often in Southwestern souvenirs; you can find it on postcards, on mugs, and sometimes even cheesy taxidermist look-a-likes.

Announcing today that we are having a Competition for a new Avatar.

How is everyone? good I hope! Sorry again for the delay in updates. School, work and other personal projects are distracting., I'm slacking from studing to update .  Many thanks to Laspliten for keeping the submissions and new members going as well!!

Time now for another update!

We have 2 more new members! and   Welcome guys! Looking forward to your creatures!

Not many other updates right now. We are up to 18 members, and 797 pageviews since we started. We started small, but we are steadily growning!

And the vote is to continue for randomly chosen features (although, I will try to have everyone featured once before re-featuring others have already have been, so everyone has a chance, if you disagree, let me know, we'll take a vote and decide)

Right now, we do not have a subscription to dA and subscriptions for prizes is not yet in my price range. If anyone wants to offer prizes such as items or drawings, or even subscriptions, let us know.

Or if you think we should wait, that's good to.

Hey guys!

Getting to be time for updates again. Not much this week. I'm assuming with everone starting school, time has been crunched. So there are no new submissions yet.

There has been more interest in the club, no new members yet. Thanks need to go out to some new watchers, we seem to be growing

Speaking of which. Featured artist of the week time!

There were only 2 suggestions for featured artist, and one person chose the other. So, I gave each person a number (bluminstral excepted, because they were the most recently featured) wrote each number down on a piece of paper, put in 2 pieces each for Laspliten and pirating werewolf (cause they voted for eachother). Tossed all the paper in a hat, shook it up and had a 3rd party choose one.

Ok, sorry I'm really late on this one....  I've been pretty sick lately.  Anyway!  This creature is one that interests me because it just might be real.....

The Jersey Devil
This creature is said to inhabit the Pine Barrens in New Jersey.  There are differing stories about it.  One story depicts the Jersey Devil as an evil, mutant human.  A woman pregnant with her thirteenth child was tired of having babies and she shouted, "I hope it's a devil!"  Sure enough, the baby was born with leather wings and cloven hooves.  After it was born, it ate the entire family.....quite an appetite.  However!  Other stories depict the Jersey Devil as not evil at all.  Many believe it is a new species waiting to be discovered; a "cryptid".  Some accounts of Jersey Devil sightings explain that the person felt a sort of calmness...that it was not a bad creature.  The Philadelphia Zoo offered a reward for the capture of the Jersey Devil in 1906.....nobody ever caught it.  If you manage to capture the creature, the reward is still up for grabs.  The devil is said to have a long neck like a giraffe, ram's horns, a ratlike tail, a large pair of bat wings, cloven hooves (like a pig) and black fur.
